Dance residence

IVER KULTUR / Malmö Dance Week announces an open call for two residencies which are primarily aimed at artists in the street dance field. The residency is made possible through support from Region Skåne och Kulturrådet, Riksteatern Skåne, Dansstationen, Danscentrum Syd och Attitudes.

You can apply for all residences if you are available, but you are only assigned one.

Residence 1: 7-13 of October, 10000 SEK + Travel and accommodation support 

Residence 2: 14-27 of October + Malmö Dance Week 28 of October - 3rd of November, 40000 SEK + Travel and accommodation support

Residence 1 

One week studio residence. This week is the perfect opportunity to get started with a new artistic process.  

Residence: 7-13 of October

Location:  Danscentrum Syd, Malmö 

Showing: Work-in-progress showing at Danscentrum Syd, Malmö

What´s included 

• Support of 10.000 SEK, paid against invoice
• Travel/accommodation support 3000 SEK per person
• One week residence at Danscentrum Syd.
• Work in progress showing at the end of the week.

Application requirements

• Dance artists and choreographers who are active in the street dance genre.
• One can apply for all periods but is only assigned one.
• You must be available on the dates you are applying for.
• The persons mentioned in the application must also complete the residence.
• Participants not living in Malmö pay and arrange their accommodation and travel to and from the residence themselves.

• Participants are encouraged to also apply for other support.

Residence 2

‍

Two weeks of dance residency and one week of attending at Malmö Dance Week. This residency is directed to continue the work of an already started artistic process. You will have a work-in-progress showing during Malmö Dance Week.

Residence 14/10-27/10 + Malmö Dance Week 28/10-3/11

Location:  Dansstationen and Danscentrum Syd, Malmö

What's included

• Production support of SEK 40,000, paid against invoice
• Travel/accommodation support 5000kr per person
• Two weeks residency divided between Dansstationen and Danscentrum Syd, Malmö. Access to a rehearsal studio during the whole time. 
• Work in progress showing at Danscentrum Syd during Malmö Dance Week 
• Golden tickets to Malmö Dance Week + Accommodation in shared hotel room throughout Malmö Dance Week (28th oct -3th nov). 
• If desired, there is an opportunity to meet with a dramaturg for discussion and help.

The residency is possible thanks to the Cultural Council, Region Skåne, Riksteatern Skåne, Danscentrum Syd, Dansstationen and the Attitudes project which is part of Creative Europe and co-financed by the European Union.
